I am currently accepting limited clients for beta read and query package services!

What to expect:

Beta Read:

Think of the beta read as a low-level developmental edit. I'll read your entire manuscript and then provide you with an edit letter highlighting 4-5 areas that might need further development, places I had questions as a reader, etc. I'll refer to specific places in the text, but will not be doing in-line edits or frequent commenting.

Query package:
I absolutely love getting to the heart of a story by working on query packages, which includes the query letter, synopsis, and first 30 pages of the manuscript. Indie writers can also use this service, and we'll swap out the query letter for the marketing copy of the book.

My approach:

I love working with writers to help them develop their unique voices and tell their unique stories. I center the heart and soul of the writer, taking care of the soft center while also helping to guide the story to its best version.

My experience:

Before my writing life began, I worked for several years as an editor and writer at a national environmental organization, where I researched and wrote articles while also managing proofreading processes. Later, as Managing Editor at SQUAT Birth Journal, I had my hands in everything from acquisitions to working directly with writers to larger strategic planning for the organization. I've worked as a freelance writer and editor, working closely with writers on everything from PhD dissertations to full-length novels.

I have a Master's Degree in English, with a concentration on teaching writing, from Georgetown University and a Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona.  I am an activist, ally, and co-conspirator working in the grassroots to protect abortion rights and advance reproductive justice. I am committed to continued work and learning.

As an active member of the online writing community, I've served as a beta reader, critique partner, and editor for dozens of writers. I pride myself on thorough reading rooted in helping the writer find the heart of their story, while approaching each story with kindness and sensitivity.

In 2025 I served as the Pima County Public Library Writer-in-Residence, during which I worked with writers in one-on-one conferences and larger workshops.

My debut novel, BIRDING WITH BENEFITS, was published by Gallery Books in 2024. It was featured on NPR's Books We Love, Audubon Magazine, and adapted into the Hallmark Channel movie Love & Adventures in Birding. My sophomore novel, HONEY BEE MINE, came out in February of 2026.
