About me
Writer, parent, student, activist
I've always loved writing, but until recently I only wrote non-fiction, both for work and for fun. Like many people, the pandemic found me looking for new ways to find joy in my life. Enter romance novels! Reading romance gave me a break from anxiety spirals while making me laugh, cry, swoon, and just forget about the world for a while. After devouring every romance in sight (with a particular weakness for historical romance), I decided to try my hand at writing. Several months later, I thought my manuscript was complete. That's when the real learning started!
When I'm not writing or reading, I'm living life in southern Arizona while trying to stay afloat with three kids (age ranges from single to double digits) and finish up graduate school, where I am earning a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. I am also heavily engaged in activism around issues of reproductive justice and abortion access.
I am represented by Amy Giufridda at Belcastro Literary Agency.
My work
I write contemporary romance with heart and heat focusing on people experiencing the fullness of mid-life (30s and 40s). My romances are sex positive and consent-driven, with happy endings designed to help all of my characters expand their notions of who they are and who they can be.
I use my fiction as a way to write love letters to places, people, and things that I love: the desert southwest, the sound of a baseball landing in a glove, a summer storm, a gooey cinnamon role, a devoted parent, a soaring bird, a snappy best friend, the softness of the page of a well-loved book, and much more. You might not see ME in my pages, but you'll see a lot of my favorite things.
